At first glance this request seems easy to fill, for Paris boasts an estimated 250 galleries, some closing and others sprouting up, often in new neighborhoods.

 

But most are specialized: 17th, 18th, 19th centuries, 1920's, '30's, '50's. For today's...

 

 

 

painting they concentrate on particular countries, trends, trends within trends, or, occasionally, they show the owner's taste regardless of trend. 

 

So "art gallery" means many different things.
