The Père Lachaise cemetery, "garden of the dead"

The number of graves, many of which are spectacular, allows walks on a great many themes

This particular tour concerns tombs of Protestants. Our guide is a well-known specialist of Paris and connoisseur of art  (and he is Protestant).

The graves of Heloïse and Abelard "launched" the cemetery. "The Count of Montecristo" sets a fashionable entombment by their side.

Graves of Protestants. Their austerity sets them apart from those of many Catholics, with their remarkable funerary art.

We leave the cemetery by a little-known exit...

...and continue to the home of our guide, connoisseur and collector of contemporary art.

For 1-5 visitors: You can visit the cemetery alone, but the multitude of tombs makes it hard to find particular graves using the map. As well, there is so much to say, and so many high points, that yopu may be grateful for a guide.

° If you are a larger group, you may prefer this erudite and charismatic specialist of Paris. Viewing his collection of contemporary art after the walk is a most after the walk is a most valuable experience. The cost depends on the number of people and the context. Please ask us.
