We have admired Jo Ann ...

ever since hearing her at the Sainte Chapelle and at our own 20th-anniversary fête
  • Spirituals and Gospel rock the Sainte-Chapelle
In African-American churches, the public joins in with the choir. But in France ...

The Sainte-Chapelle, built to house the Crown of Thorns in the 13th century, epitomizes French culture at its most fervent level. For American culture, Spirituals do the same.

This music was so exultant that the foot-stomping audience joined in., for the first time in this venue perhaps.

This Texan is a jazzwoman as well.

  • Jo Ann had already performed for us several times, and we chose her for the 20-year

anniversary of the Franco-American Cultural Club

Jo Ann was our "chanteuse" for our 20th anniversary, in 2002 (we were still the "Club culturel franco-Americain")
